Eight Leadership Practices
In my earlier post on The Practice of Leadership I identified eight practices — commitments to action — that I believe can meaningfully shape a leader’s presence. In eight separate posts (not likely to be consecutive) I intend to describe each of these in more detail and offer some suggestions about how to get started.
Some practices probably will feel more pertinent to you than others. Please view them simply as areas to possibly focus your energy for growth and change. They are all connected to one another and in a combined way can reflect your consciousness of your own leadership in the world. There is no one place to start and the sequence in which I will present them is helpful only as a vehicle for communication.
I also hope to share some of my own process of leadership self-development. This is a blog, isn’t it, not a best-seller, and maybe a little meaningful self-disclosure could pave the way to connection. As always, your comments and feedback are deeply welcomed. My sense is that each practice in its way is a doorway, one that is open only so long as there is dialogue about it.
